Jason Du Plessis
Co-Director and Financial Advisor at Abacon
An independent financial advisor today, Jason Donovan du Plessis started his career with Discovery in 2015.
It is here where he found his niche as a short-term specialist after he became accredited through the Discovery Academy, also passing his RE5 during this time.
Working in the call centre granted him the opportunity to learn more about his potential clients, and thereafter, sought out opportunities to interact more with people face-to-face.
In 2016, Jason went on to complete his FP1 training through Sanlam and became accredited as an independent financial advisor, appointed to manage the short-term business of Abacon (Pty) Ltd.
This role as Director in the company further pushed him to attain his RE1 qualification.
His role in the company grew rapidly when he became the PPS broker in the company and has ever since continued on to become one of their top brokers.
Every year for the past 3 years Jason has achieved PhD Level with PPS. He went on to complete his Wealth Management qualification in 2021.
Jason hopes to one day set an example for other young aspiring Financial Planners, to join the value of quality mentorship and fresh vision to bolster the ever-changing industry.
